Primary Deficit:- Primary deficit means:Government’s total borrowing after removing interest payments  Primary Deficit = Fiscal Deficit – Interest Payments Example : If the government borrowed ₹600 crore (Fiscal Deficit), and paid ₹200 crore as interest, then Primary Deficit = ₹600 – ₹200 = ₹400 crore.
